WHAT IS PVD COATING
Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a term used to describe a family of vacuum coating processes. The most common of these PVD coating processes are evaporation (typically using cathodic arc or electron beam sources) and sputtering (using magnetic enhanced sources or “magnetrons”, cylindrical or hollow cathode sources).
Surface Optimization and Improvement of Wear-Resistance
Advanced PVD Coatings enables increased ENDURANCE AND DURABILITY, through;
- Corrosion resistance
- Oxidation resistance
- Conductivity (electric, thermal)
- Insulation (electric, thermal)
Leading to INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY with
- Improved service lives Reduced maintenance costs
- Less downtime
- Higher quality of final products

The Automotive industry is increasingly using advanced PVD coatings to reduce friction and wear. We specialize in PVD coatings to reduce energy loss in valve train components and engine bearings. Our premium coatings are suitable for aluminium, titanium and magnesium components and complies with recent economic and ecological automotive industry requirements. PVD coated tools feature on many stamping tool applications.
There is an increase in demand for advanced PVD coatings in the food industry. Our PVD coatings are non- toxic and industry approved and provide increased wear resistance and a longer component/ part lifetime.
We offer a variety of PVD coatings for the cutting tool industry. We use the most up-to-date Cathodic arc deposition technology, to provide our customers with high-quality coatings that are specifically engineered to help achieve your machining objectives.
Dies & Punches
We offer advanced PVD coatings for die castings and punch tools. Our PVD coatings are designed to reduce abrasion and wear for longer part and tool life. Our coatings minimize the need for expensive lubricants and tool cleaning, resulting in long- term cost savings.
Dies & Punches – PVD Coatings Benefits:
- High Hardness
- Increased Wear Resistance
- Enhanced Performance
- Improved Surface Quality
- Longer Part Life
- Short Lead Time
Our PVD coatings are bio-compatible and suitable for medical devices and instruments. Our coatings provide advanced wear and corrosion resistance. They are engineered to withstand sterilization procedures and internal human body conditions. In addition, our coatings minimize friction and improve lubricity, resulting in sharper cutting edges (instruments) and in increased protection to the bone/tissue (devices). Furthermore, our coatings are aesthetically appealing, making them easy to identify.
Medical – PVD Coatings Benefits:
- Low Friction
- Enhanced Corrosion Resistance
- Improved Performance
- Aesthetically Pleasing
