TD (Thermal Diffusion Coating)

Thermal Diffusion Coating (TDC) is a surface treatment process that is used to improve the wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and hardness of metal components. TDC is a type of surface engineering that involves diffusing a layer of one or more metals into the surface of a base material, typically steel or iron.

The TDC process involves heating the base material to a high temperature and exposing it to a source of metal vapor, typically in a vacuum chamber. The metal vapor diffuses into the surface of the base material, creating a diffusion zone that is several microns thick. The metal layer produced through TDC is metallurgically bonded to the base material and provides a high level of wear resistance and hardness.

TDC coatings are commonly used in applications where high wear resistance and durability are required, such as in the manufacturing of cutting tools, molds, and industrial equipment. They are also used in the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as in medical device manufacturing. TDC coatings can be customized based on the specific application, and can include metals such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and tungsten.
